On Sunday, October 23, 2022, Los Angelenos will unite to recognize and celebrate LA’s Latin and Mexican heritage as Discover San Pedro, a nonprofit organization, presents their 10th Annual San Pedro Dia de los Muertos Festival. With thousands of locals and visitors from Los Angeles, Orange County, and beyond expected to attend, guests will experience a vibrant, historic downtown filled with a festive live entertainment lineup including performances by Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea, two-time Grammy-winning multicultural, all-women ensemble that continues to push and expand the scope of mariachi music.

Along with the Mariachi Divas, guests will also enjoy live entertainment with performances by: Ellas, Neiya Arts, Julian Torres and  Danza Azteca Xochipilli and local youth dance groups: Folklorico Nadino de San Pedro, Folklorico Perlitas de Wilmington and Dance Tech San Pedro.

The sounds of contemporary and traditionally-inspired Mexican folklore music will be heard throughout the streets of downtown San Pedro. This FREE, family-oriented event will feature live entertainment, beer garden, delicious foods, crafts for kids, altar contest exhibition, and more! Visitors are encouraged to come dressed in Dia de los Muertos themed costumes and participate in the festivities. Free trolley rides hosted by Downtown San Pedro as well.

The Festival will feature the Amazing Altars Contest & Exhibition which is open to all. Altar Entries are now being accepted at: (include info for Entrants) for the Festival’s “Amazing Altars Contest”. Grand Prize is $1,000 for First Place winners. Additionally, there will be the Community Altar and the expanded Tree of Life where attendees are encouraged to place an item to remember a loved one. Rounding out the event, there will be over 30 authentic and creative food and craft vendors. Highlights include San Pedro Brewing Company’s beer garden with cocktails and the famous Birrieria San Marcos and the award-winning KOGI food trucks. Children are invited to enjoy face painting and children’s activities while adults can purchase hand-made crafts, handmade jewelry, clothing and other specialty items made by regional artisans.
